Predictive Safety: Branding / by Griffin Turnipseed

The Need:

Three leaders in the world of workplace safety- Safety Solutions International, Predictive Compliance and PRISM Safety Services- were joining together in the summer of 2016 to form a brand new venture, Predictive Safety. Their mission was bold, to get ahead of workplace dangers via predictive analytics and reduce working fatalities around the world. They would primarily work in the high-risk industries of: mining, transportation, maritime, manufacturing, and healthcare. They had a name but needed a strong brand to bring this ambitious mission to market. So, as Predictive Safety's Marketing Manager I got to work.

The Remedy:

I began by researching the competitors in the workplace safety industry; of the existing brands most incorporated literal "safety" elements- yellows, oranges, warning triangles, stop lights, exclamation points and the like- while many were quite dated. Since Predictive Safety was offering a paradigm changing product to the market, I wanted to break this on-the-nose trope. But given the buttoned-up, professional industries they would be targeting I kept things simple and strong. After rounds of design and review we landed on the Predictive Safety diamond appearance. The diamond harked back to a traditional safety industry symbol, but was juxtaposed with a clean, professional, blue color palette to set the brand apart and let viewers know this wasn't a traditional safety company. Once the design was set I packaged up all the logos versions into a comprehensive brand standard kit for all future marketers and designers at Predictive Safety to use.

The Results:

Predictive Safety: now present on 6 continents.

The Predictive Safety brand served as a strong foothold to launch the company into market securing key rounds of fundraising and crucial first clients. The Predictive Safety brand has since hit markets in 6 continents, and has facilitated growth with a family of brands beneath it. Once I had developed the brand, I then got to work deploying it across company website, trade show design and sales materials.
